1972 Chevrolet El Camino Supercharged 502ci

This 1972 Chevrolet El Camino combines classic Chevrolet styling amplified by big block crate engine power. A custom Dark Slate and Charcoal Metallic paint finish combines multiple factory colors, accented by chrome brightwork, a cowl-induction hood, louvered tailgate trim, and painted 15-inch Rallye wheels. Goodyear VR60 tires measure 225 front / 255 rear for a wide period muscle car stance. Black cabin upholstery cabin offers a split bench seat and armrest alongside air conditioning and auxiliary instruments including a tachometer and boost gauge.

At the heart of the build is a supercharged 502ci big-block Chevrolet crate engine equipped with a B&M 174 Powercharger Roots-type blower, paired with a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission and Positraction rear axle. Additional mechanical upgrades include a Mecca Accusump oil accumulator system, dual exhaust, upgraded front and rear sway bars, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and an Optima Yellowtop battery. A Clifford alarm system with remote fob and an in-cabin third brake light round out thoughtful updates.

The car’s refurbishment is documented by detailed records and original Polaroid photographs. Currently located with the seller in Hermosa Beach, California, this El Camino is accompanied by service records, factory literature, an ignition key set and Clifford alarm fob, black rubber floor mats, a fire extinguisher, and a battery tender available upon request.

 

 

Completed more than 30 years ago, this El Camino's restoration is supported by detailed records covering the frame, bodywork, components, and individual parts. Original Polaroid photographs taken during the restoration are included, providing a unique visual record of the work performed.
